Artikel: Dixie Belgium

A few years ago, we’re talking about the 1980s, a couple of friends with a common intrest in the War For Southern Independence got together and founded Dixie Belgium. At first they went camping in the Belgian Ardennes and in the near-by Antwerp with tents and Confederate Flags. They didn’t have Confederate uniforms due to the high cost of purchasing them, nevertheless they had a great time camping.Though they were few, the locals noted there was a sincere intrest in the defending the heritage of the Southern States and these locals started asking questions about Dixie and the South which the members of the group eagerly answered.

Soon there were meetings in local places where many hours were spent talking and discussing the War For Southern Independence and its consequences.
A monthly newspaper was published with the name “The Dixie Gazette” and a few local merchants supported the intiative by running advertisements in it. There were however more campers than writers in Dixie Belgium.

A few years later with the coming of the internet Dixie Belgium learned of a new organisation which was based in England, the CSA-E. This CSA-E had the same goals as Dixie Belgium and the members decided to let the entire Dixie Belgium group join the CSA-E and Dixie Belgium ceased to exist.
The co-operation between Dixie Belgium members and the CSA-E went very smooth and soon new commands rose in Poland, Czech Republic, Ukrania and even Uganda.
The members joined the Sons of Confederate Veterans St. Clair Camp # 308 in Alabama and the co-operation was perfect. E-mails were sent daily to defend the Confederate heritage and many an American mayor and politicians received Heritage defense e-mails from members in Belgium with questions as to why they would remove the Confederate Flags and memorials to the Southern heroes.

Dixie Belgium works solely in defense of the heritage of the Southern States and members of this organisation have wide intrest. There are re-enactors line dancers, country lovers amongst us, in short all people with a heart for Dixie!

Joining Dixie Belgium costs nothing and this will probably remain so as well. The only thing that’s required is a good spirit and a heart for Dixie. Racists and hate groups are not welcome!!!
